The whole story can be found on KMIZ, a local ABC station. What it comes down to it, the local Internet Crimes Task Force set out a warning that predators is using games to target kids. Now there's a shocker.

I stand behind any thing that police do to keep the prevs away from my enjoyment. However, the police should not say junk like "There is no reason an adult should have this game." when talking about a game like Animal Crossing. There are adults, men and women, that do enjoy that game. Not every person is born alike and not every gamer is alike. Some go for puzzle games like Tetris and some go for the blood and guts games like Mad World. So, Andy Anderson of the Mid-Missouri Internet Crime Task Force, if you feel there is no real reason why 29 year old male, like myself, should not play a game like Animal Crossing, please let me know why.

For everyone else, there is two tips for you. Adding only people you know to your friend list. For Animal Crossing, you just have to have to follow the in game instructions to add people. Adding people on Nintendo's Animal Crossing site or on internet board might not be a wise move if you don't know them. Lastly, be pro-active. Don't hang all over your child back to find out if Resetti the Mole is putting the moves on your child, but ask general questions about the game. Keep an ear open to something that you might not want to hear. But most of that I covered before.
Don't forget to leave a comment if you got something to say.

Saying One Thing and Doing Another, the Lesson Learn By Eliot Spitzer

I thought for awhile if I should cover this. The mainstream media covered the story for about 3 days before the Obama anti-American pastor hit the screen. But since I got a little time before my Xbox/Nintendo customer support review, I thought I should cover it. The only thing that held it back was because I getting tried of posting every gamer pissy moment.

During his term as Attorney General, he fought computer chip manufacturers, insurance companies, record labels, police corruption, and even the New York Stock Exchange. He even got named TIME Crusader of the Year 2002. When he became governor he proposed a bill for same sex marriage, criticize for use of police surveillance, even try to give illegal aliens driver's licenses. But gamers will best remember him for what he said about TV, music, and games.

Media content has gotten more graphic, more violent and more sex-based… Currently, nothing under New York State law prohibits a fourteen-year old from walking into a video store and buying… a game like ‘Grand Theft Auto,’ which rewards a player for stealing cars and beating people up. Children can even simulate having sex with a prostitute…
When he got in to office, Spitzer came up with the "Safe Games Act". If it passed, selling or renting a game to a minor will be a Class E felony (rape, dismemberment, physical torture, mutilation or evisceration of a human being), every new game system must have parental controls, and a universal rating system. I already pointed out the flaw of parental controls and parents before, but they got to used to be effective. But putting some guy in the same boat as rapist and killer for selling a game to a kid is just wrong.

It got fast track though the New York Assembly, but it hit a bump in the road named Joseph Bruno, the Senate Majority Leader. I guess the whole police keeping tabs on where he goes rubbed him the wrong way. It's expected to rear it's ugly head again this year. But since just about all of the gaming law have been shot down, it's doubtful this won't last long.

Now here where why you shouldn't do one thing and say another. A FBI wiretap of the Emperors Club VIP caught him hooking up a call girl. "Kristen" was to meet up with "Client 9" in Washington DC for the night. My guess, it's not to take her to dinner and a show and part ways. After three days, he left office.

If your against something but do it any way, that gains you the title of hypocrite. It's only make it worst if you are the Attorney General, a person that knows the law, to use services that are against the law. And for me, if your married and living under the same room as your wife and taking part in this, your just asking for trouble. Here's the common life lesson, don't shit on what you eat.
Don't forget to leave a comment if you got something to say.

Welcome back to the 90's anime

Wow, a post not about video games or video games violence, although this BS makes me mad, but about my on again, off again love of anime. When I started to watch anime in the middle 90's, I enjoyed series like Neon Genesis Evangelion, Tenchi Muyo, and Ranma ½. But for some reason, I guess much like Hollywood, anime companies are slowly running out of stuff that is new. Not a bad ideal since there still many outstanding series being made, but a look back could do as much more harm as the Starsky and Hutch movie.

Evangelion: 1.0 is a retelling of the Evangelion series, but in a nice movie format with updated everything, in 3 parts. In case you don't know, Second Impact kills off 3/4 of the world and floods everything. So, basically what Al Gore said except in anime form. After 14 years, Shinji Ikari comes in to Tokyo 3 to plot a giant robot to fight battle giant monsters and to become a whinny little prick. Oh and it fights with along side late 90's anime idol, Rei Ayanami, although I was rooting for Asuka Langley Sohryu because he gave Shinji alot of shit, until she bacame a whinny little bitch. Any way, if you can find at the local art house, check it out, because if End of Evangelion is any indication, it might be a while before we see it on DVD. Enjoy this trailer.

Fans of Vash the Stampede will be happy to know that long awaited movie for Trigun is coming. Announced two years, it's finally coming out in 2009. The hold up was they had to finish the manga of Trigun Maximum first.

Last, but not least, is a new Slayers TV Series. After three TV Series, five movies, and four OAV, it appears it hasn't got old with some of the fans, myself included. Not much infomation about it. We might see the return of Lina and gang, or the dreaded Naga, and just something new with the Slayers logo slapped on it. I hope some more will be confirmed pretty soon.

And becasue of the soon to be released No Doubt song pack Guitar Hero 3, here's one of my favorite AMVs, again, from the 90's.

Don't forget to leave a comment if you got something to say.

The video game world own plot twist

It's been about a week since the whole Fox News VS Gaming World, and it's still on the bitter nerves of gamers. Fox News hasn't apologized yet, but child care and dating book writer, Cooper Lawrence, said something close to "Opps, my bad." in Sunday's New York Times (Don't forget Bugmenot.com). Kind of funny that a paper that has been known for left leaning post something bad about Fox News. It all comes down to this:
"I really regret saying that, and now that I've seen the game and seen the sex scenes it's kind of a joke. ..."But it's not like pornography. I've seen episodes of 'Lost' that are more sexually explicit."

Well, we do know one thing, someone is watching Lost. Good chance you found out she "misspoke" is when she saw the thousand reviews for her book, most of which had only one star, claiming that they never read it.

Over hill and dale, Adam Sessler added another 2 cents, this time added at Fox News and Lawrence on Friday's X-Play.

Second to last, but by the oddest turn of events, gaming crazy, old, arch villain, Jack Thompson told Kotaku's Brian Crecente, "The guy (?) who shot his mouth off about it had no idea what the Hell he was talking about." My biggest bone to pick is with Cooper Lawrence. She has written a number of dating books, including "CosmoGIRL’s All About Guys". She why was she called in for a chat about interactive picture box? Not for her knowledge about what makes Ms. Pac Man different from Mr., because she's an "psychology expert with a master's degree in developmental psychology". Yeah, an egg head that likes to talk about the head. So she'll say "researchers say this" and "researchers say that", which she did. Maybe she didn't act so arrogant, she won't have came off as a bitch.

Which comes all comes down to this. I have already did a whole thing about the rating system and it works, so I won't go over the fact that Mass Effect isn't for the kiddies and parents need to be more proactive to watching or using the systems in place. But all of this rings of a forgot time called the 80's back with CNN was starting out and Frank Zappa is still ruling the local radio stations.

Thank god that was just music... wait before that was comic books... and TV. Just words telling you what's what won't do any more. Where will the gaming world be without visual and audio displays to show you what it looks like. Images don't move and audio commentaries get boring fast, thus then need the for moving pictures and sounds are needed more then ever. Sure, G4 has Cinematech, but in this busy world getting trying to find that last tag in GTA:SA and getting that toon to level 50, where's the time?

Let's start with Kingdom Hearts 2: Final Mix. Let's face it, Haley Joel Osment is getting too old to play a wide eyed 12 year old. It's a shame too because it included in the Final Mix is a 3D remake of Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, which was on the GBA.

Sticking with the whole "when Micky meets Cloud" thing, here's super secret, chocolate covered ending to Kingdom Hearts 2. Don't just enjoy it, buy it.

Don't forget to leave a comment if you got something to say.

RETRACTION: Shatner is a bit more chucky durning Star Trek 6.

Out tomorrow. 7 words, Do not bullshit around and buy it. What's so different about this one from the others? Well, let the rock and roll, over boiled, action packed trailer tell you.

Wait, wide screen. That's different from 4:3 or full screen. They can't do that shit to my series. Wrong, they already did. First one is already at stores with the second one a couple of weeks away. Since there hasn't been a box set of the uncensored version of Dragon Ball Z yet, many fans are looking forward to it, even more so since it cost around the price of 2 DVDs and doesn't have the "rocking" English soundtrack. Yet, there are fans that have to pee in other fans corn flakes. Fans, brace yourself, you will be mission out on feet and a little bit of the characters head. Yeah, who gives a rat’s ass. But still, that has been enough for a partition and for many people to cry foul.

Let's go over the facts. With the jump to wide screen, you'll lose out on seeing some of Vegeta's giant ass hair and feet. But what you'll gain in return is more of that stale background of rocks, fields, and junk like that. Now, let's do some math. Math is fun after all.

Let's take Deep Discount DVD. The Season 1 Box Set of the remastered, wide screen version cost $30.95 or 2 DVDs. Now, the price for Dragon Ball Z, Season 1, Volume 1 is $15.11, not including shipping. Since there are only 3 episodes per volume and 39 episodes in the season, which brings up to close to 13 volumes, 7 more disc then the box set. Now, let us consider that every volume is priced the same, which will brings the total price for the uncensored, full screen version to a total of 196.43. Six times the cost the box set. And the only thing you get the extra $166 is the some hair and feet, oh and that "rocking" English soundtrack.

Let us review what we have learned from my rant.

Wide screen : You lose a bit of hair, even a little of the head, and feet, but you gain more of the background. I get the Japanese soundtrack when I listen to the English dubbed. It cost 6 times less then just buying every DVD by itself. More people won't like me, which is nothing new.

Full screen: I can watch in other rooms other then the living room since I'm not rolling around in cash. The English dubbed soundtrack is great for causing headaches when drunk. I won't be a bastard, which is a good thing now and then.

Man, this is tough. Can something remind me why I watch Dragon Ball Z? Anything at all?

Basically, if you bought the uncensored version DVDs before, there is really no need to buy this new version, unless you really like Dragon Ball Z or looking to free up some room on your shelf. But since I'm a tight wad and I don't like to buy every DVD buy itself when I know damn well there is going to be a box set coming, I'm getting this.

Disagree with me? By all means, leave a comment. There is still a lot of straws to grasp at. There's also a FAQ on FUNimation's board about it, and don't say that's that BS and they are lying.

ADD ON: Here is an image of the what was add and token away.

[Some image was here, but now it's not. It just show that 4:3 showed more or a clown]

Yeah, that a good chunk of the picture that goes MIA. My judgement stands though. Don't have it and want to get, get it. Have the 13 DVDs already, don't need to get it, unless you really hate the English soundtrack. Thanks to energydan for pointing out the image.
Don't forget to leave a comment if you got something to say.

Troll 2 is Something Awful

'Nuff said in the title. Lots of high power people are jumping on to anti-gaming wagon, some of which might be the same people you have voted for, or even running your church. While many of us don't smell our own farts, people do need to wake up to the one fact that has hunted us for a couple of years now, some parents are lazy. Really lazy. Sure, some people are really busy with their jobs, living their own life, and running their kids life, but how long does it take look a box. If you spend the couple of seconds checking how fat is in a corn dog, you sure in hell have the time to see if a game is rated E or M. Here's a tip, its two fucking places. Go ahead, time yourself.

Yeah, the ESRB rating system does have it hiccups, but so does MPAA. Yet, there is nothing wrong with the MPAA rating system. It gets the job done by telling people what kind of movie it is. Yet, people with way too much time on their hands, is telling us that there is some wrong with ESRB rating, even though rating system that the ESRB employs is similar to the MPAA's. Heck, game publishers say the ESRB rating system is too harsh. Yet, people are saying that rating system is broken.

So I say this to every Pope, President want-a-be, and ambulance chasing lawyer out there, stop being a pussy and tell lazy parents to read a letter on the box. If your kid is 5, I doubt you'll take them to an R rated movie, so why would you buy them a game that pretty much equals a rated R movie. All the major retailers have signs everywhere that have the rating system with a short explanation of what each letter means. Being uninformed is hardly a reason any more. Most retailers know that they'll get fired or fined if they are caught selling an M rated game to some under 18. Yet, there are parents out there are so "busy", they don't have the time to look at the back to find out what kind of game it is.

Banning all games that are rated for people over 18 is not the answer. It's only going to get ruled as unconstitutional and waste tax money cleaning up the shit that some dumb fuck caused when he was just going for a few extra votes. But hey, if you going to ban M and AO rated games, what's the stop them banning porn, R and high rated movies, music, TV, books, and etc. Kids can get a hold of that stuff just as easily.

I know this won't be last time I'll covering this type of bull shit again. After all, some kid will go nuts one day, does some thing crazy, and blame some game for it, a game they shouldn't have got in the first place. Or some dick with tie after some quick votes by preying on weak minded parents thinking of putting a ban of any game that consider too adult for kids to "keep children safe". O.J. Simpson getting paid for a show on FOX and a book about how he "would" killed Nicole Simpson and Ron Goldman. A Wal-Mart store letting people race to get a PS 3. PS 3 on Ebay just over $1,000. However, this is something that has always pissed me off since the X Box 360 release.

SmashMyPS3 smashing a PS 3. And people donated money to have it smashed. It was all cute and stuff when they were smashing iPods. There was a lot of them, however PS 3 was not the case. Sony stated a few weeks before launch that there only going to be around 400,000 units for the US. I feel sorry for the person that didn't get one at that store, only to watch the system they waited on, smashed.

Checking their site didn't offer much in the way of information, outside of:
"This project only exists for the sole purpose of providing satisfaction to people who hate the Play Station 3, or just like seeing the reaction of the people who just spend a day in line to get their hands on one of these consoles. Entertainment, nothing more!"
It they had smashed the system for a good cause, that I can understand. After all, $500-600 dollars can go a long way to many of the charities. However, just to smash just to be funny is both douche-y and retarded. This goes to all the people that donated the money as well. There are three things you can do "SmashMy". Do it after there are more systems, smash it and give the same amount of cash to a good cause, or stop.

Funny with the iPod, but it's a joke that got pretty freaking lame.

EDIT: Left a few words out. They smashed a Wii as well. Still douche-y. I hope they grow up in the next 5 years.
Don't forget to leave a comment if you got something to say.

M. In retrospect, the GameCube was more powerful then the Playstation 2.

Being the weakest of the three and only twice as powerful as the GameCube, Nintendo has more focus on Wiimote then raw system power. In retrospect, the GameCube was more powerful then the Playstation 2.

Iwata has stated that there too many homes, both in America and Japan, that do not have HD TV sets. While this fact is true now, that can easily change in matter of years as price for LCD and Plasma HD sets drop. If you need a DVD player, the Wii will not play DVDs until next year; however, if you are hurting for one, you can buy a cheap standalone player for $30.

Firmware/Accessories

The OS was designed around the concept of television channels. Disc Channel, Mii Channel, News Channel, Forecast Channel, Photo Channel, Wii Shop Channel, Internet Channel and Virtual Console Channel were designed for the game and non gamer in mind. Using the Nintendo 24/7 Connect system, the OS and Channels are always updated, even when the system in Standby mode. If you own the Nintendo DS, you are in luck because you download demos and use the DS with the Wii.

The Wiimote, which is shaped much like your average TV remote, uses a combination of accelerometers and infrared detection with the use of sensor bar that can sit below or on top you TV. Making motions, like swing a bat or slashing with a sword, react with the character on the screen. It is Bluetooth enabled, with force feedback, and an internal speaker so you hear the sounds like a bow being pulled and a bat being swigged. There also a Nunchuk unit, that attaches to the bottom of the Wiimote that operates with accelerometers, but no infrared, so you have to have it plug in to Wiimote in order to use it. For Virtual Console games, you can attach a classic style controller; again, you need to have it plugged in to the unit in order for it to work.

On top of the Wii unit there is a 2 ports for Flash memory cards for photos and MP3 music playback, however, the only way MP3 music can be played is though the slideshow of Photo Channel. There are also 4 GameCube controller ports and 2 memory card ports for GameCube games.

Games

There are 43 titles to pick from during the launch period. This is not including the Virtual Console games, which will be around 45 titles by the end of the year, with around 10 titles being added every month after January. The launch dead zone is from 3 months. Unlike the Playstation 3, there are zero games being released at this time for the Wii. Early reviews for the games are saying that it will feel like a tech demo.

Marketing

The system did most of the talking for them. Gadget of the year awards, demos on popular TV shows, and many ads aimed at the adult population. Keeping the "Oh yeah ..." to a somewhat low, they let the community do must of the hype generating for them.

Nintendo has been known to be a kid friendly game company, with many a very few titles hitting the M rating on the GameCube. With many titles like Far Cry Vengeance and Red Steel, 3rd party companies might help Nintendo to loosen their kid friendly appearance.

Online

At launch, there will be no games that will utilize the online abilities at launch. So, if you were looking to change another person at Far Cry Vengeance, you’re out of luck. However, Nintendo has stated that some games, like Metroid Prime 3, will have online match up and Animal Crossing will let you take you virtual critter online. It uses a modified Friend Code system that was on the DS, which means you have to enter a series of numbers to add some to your friends list. While this keep kids safe, this keeps everyone else asking, "Repeat that last number.”

Judgment

Down: The weakest system, no HD support, no online games at launch, no real music options, the Friend Code system still sucks balls, and will make you look silly until you get use to the controls. Some games will feel like a tech demo.

Up: Cheap price, lots of units at first with more on the way, tons of Wii games with a ton of Virtual Console games, made with the young and old in mind.

Judgment: If you have the cash, buy it while it's hot. With tons of games and even more on the Virtual Console, this system will keep you entertained for months on end. It will not win in the graphic, power, and sound war, as Nintendo has stated many times over, the Wii was built for fun. As for winning the console war, it all depends on the Nintendo and 3rd party. No point in saying will it win or not before the system is even out.

Don't forget to leave a comment if you got something to say.

And we'll be right back....

When two Japanese men walk up to your door asking you if you want play with their Wii, it's best to let them in your home before the neighbors see you.

And for the people that brought us crying dolls and exploding Rubik cubes...

Okay, Sony, knock that shit off. The only thing that when MIA since the PS 2 controller is the Duel Shock. Sony has said it would if the vibration had been left in, it would have interfered with the motion sensor, but it might as to do with a law suit for copy right infringement. You can use a USB keyboard and mouse; however Bluetooth keyboard and mouse will not work. After launch, there is a game release dead zone till April. Only 5 titles are except for release between January and April. Buy lots of Blu-Ray movies, because after Christmas, that all the PS 3 good for. Some of the PS and PS 2 games don't make the cut. Love Guitar Hero 2 like I do? You can either shot at friend in Call of Duty 3 or Resistance: Fall of Man. As always, more games that you take online are on the way.

Marketing

Welcome to political world of gaming, complete with mudslinging and name calling. Sony has been doing a lot of that since E3 of last year. The Wi<f></f>i is a toy. 360 isn't all that. I hope for Sony, that PS 3 leaves up to all the hype that shoving down our throats.

Stop changing the numbers of many Playstation 3 there well be at launch. The last thing they should do is upset the fan base by screwing with them, and Sony has largest one. Telling people there will X amount, only to divide, not once, but twice is a good way get people turned on to Wi<f></f>i or 360. The price is high enough, no point in trying to get them to wait a year to get one.

Judgment

Down: The game release will be very limited in the first year. Many of the big name games like Metal Gear Solid 4 will not see a release date until the later part of 2007. Blu-Ray is a Sony format, and if you know about Sony formats, it might be the Beta to the VHS. Price is the major downer.

Up: It's a very powerful system that can do a lot. If you want to get a Blu-Ray player that doesn't cost over a $1,000. Download a movie on your computer and watch it on the TV without a lot of hookup and technical skills is pretty easy. Atleast 2 games you take online.

While it is the most powerful of the three systems, it's best to wait. If you want a Blu-Ray player, this might work for you, but by the time you get it, you could have bought a stand alone player. The format war is still raging on, the Playstation 3 might be key in winning it for Sony, or it might go the other way as prices drop.

The Wi<f></f>i coverage will be dropped in a few days, so stay tuned. I can provide the details to your investigators, but basically this company has been using, I believe I can show, their Internet site and various other means to encourage and solicit criminal harassment of me. This would appear to violate state and federal laws. I asked Penny Arcade's attorney to stop this targeting, and he said it was my fault. Maybe he's played too many video games and thinks that flesh and blood people are just pixilated pinatas. Please help me if you can... They claim the First Amendment, it seems, applies only to them."

It’s been years since I had been to High School, but it sounds like he thinks it also applies to him. He goes on a number of cable news stations and cries his bleeing heart out about how video games are destroy the youth and turning them in to killers. The last time I check, that is First Amendment, and yes, it applies to him, me, and everyone in the United States. If I see something that is just plain stupid, i.e.: everything comes out his mouth, he writes, and thinks about video games, I have the right to rip in to him. He is every right to his option, just as long as he gets the facts right. Need the less, many of PA’s readers called, mailed, faxed, e-mailed, pigeon mail the Florida Bar and they are looking in to the issue. What they do depends on Jack, he can bow out and leave the state and feudal governments to regulate the sell since game stores can not or pull a Cindy Sheehan. Anyway it turns out; Jake’s on going battle is far from over.

Neon Genesis Evangelion has finally hit TV, yet again, but this time not on Toonami. For many years, it was believed that Evangelion would never see American air, er, cable waves again due it’s poor ratings and ADV readies it own VOD channel. While this isn’t ADV first show on Adult Swim, Super Milk Chan was a flop. Instead of much hopeful American version, AS aired the Japanese, English Dub version, which was far less funny. It run was filled with reruns and upset fans of the shows. Once again, ADV bow out again, but this time it wasn’t for 2 years. Evangelion makes it third return to the network, and so far, it’s looking good.

For many fans that have seen just subtitles, you in for a treat, which be used loosely. While some people get upset at the thought of their favorite series isn’t the one they though will get the subtitled treat that AS spoke of at con a few months ago, they had ensured us that it will be a new series, and not an old series, like Evangelion. But never look a gift horse in the mouth. While some people dislike the dub, some people, like me, swear by it as good enough. Heck, I prefer to watch the dub over the subtitled version because of the VHS days. Here is a quick lesson in anime fandom in the States before DVDs. You can get you anime in two different flavors. Dub in English or Japanese with English subtitles. So when you buy anime back then, it had to one or the other. Back in the day, I much rather buy the dub because subtitled tend to be a higher price because it was aimed at the people that want it that version of the series, and I’m a pretty cheap person. But the main reason I don’t pull out the DVDs and watch it the same time it airs on TV, is people parts of me still remember the lines. But for those nah sayers and people that have yet, even though I don’t understand how anybody could miss out this series before, you stuck with dub track, like or not.

Need the less, it is airing uncut, for now. Farther down the series, there might be a few edits, mostly due to blood. Many people were surprised that had the theme song subtitled, which was not all that special, but they did rush the ending so there will fewer time edits. If you haven’t seen the series, see it now, but if you have, either in its subtitled form or, like myself, dubbed, it a walk down memory lane, in weekly doses.
Don't forget to leave a comment if you got something to say.

Jake Thompson, your are my hero.

Wooo, doggy. What a week so far. Deceit. Arrest. Name calling. And to top it off, I have charley my horse. Well, let’s get to it.

I’m sure most of you are following this whole Jack Thompson vs. every gamer of the United States thing. As funny as it may sound, it like trying to figure out what is better, being evil or being good, at least as far as fansubs. Penny Arcade heard of Jack Thompson bid that if any company can make a game that has a man hunting down and killing game publishers, game store owners, and any, to include cops and anything else that get in his way, he would donate $10,000 to the ESA. Since there a few games already out there, he withdrew his claim. Penny Arcade was quick to note this and donate the money, in his place. Much like being panted on the playground and having yellow stained underwear, he was pretty darn upset. Not to take this laying down, he faxed a letter to the Seattle Police Chief Gil Kerlikowske and asks that the site be shut down and/or arrests the Tycho and Gabe for their "campaign of harassment". Since Jack is a lawyer, he would know he needs to read up on their laws before sending that letter. But the fun never ends there. VG Cats have been “talking” with Jack for a couple days now.

Since that whole “Hot Coffee” mess over at Take2/Rockstar, ESRB, video game industry (ESB), and gamers can not get enough of this lawyer from Florida. Sure, floods, Iraq, hurricane, and other nasty stuff have caught the attention of the world, but for gamers, this guy is mother with her kids stuck under a rock. He has asked for the games like the Bully, Warriors, and Manhunt to be ban and all production to stop, most gamers and the industry laughed him off. But still, the media can’t get enough of this crazy old coot. Tonight he came on to CNN and said this about Midway, “The NFL wouldn't allow its name to be used, and so that tells you something.” If you keep up with gaming news, you’ll know that giant EA has bought out the NFL video game rights. So, in order not get sued by EA, can’t use team, players, and mascot names. It’s great that he did his homework, again, before his shot off his mouth.

While he calls games like GTA “cop killing training simulator”, he might look for to the release of the Nintendo Revelation. Sure, people might go, “Huh? Why’s that some guy I blog I just ran across?” Look back at the ad Nintendo showed during its TGS show off. It has some guy “shooting” like he had a real gun. But, since the Nintendo is so “kiddy”, Yoshi Safari 2 might not look “cop killing training simulator”, but who knows what lurks in the green head of his.

Like I stated at the started, I, of 26 years of age, had “Charley Horse” early this week. On the advice of my dad, I took some Tonic Water and now, almost, fit as used fiddle. My legs still are bit stiff, but that the price I pay for not working out more. But like I keep saying to myself and to other this weekend while we were at the firing range, I had 30/29/28 days left in the Army. Now its 26 days left. PT test next drill, hopefully, I won’t be there.

In the next day or two, there will be another blog coming down the pipes, but this time, at long last, it’ll be about anime. It'll be about Evangelion and its return to Cartoon Network.
Don't forget to leave a comment if you got something to say.

Only my doctor knows for sure.

OMG H3770! WTF?

I love Katamari damn it. Instead of rebuild the cosmos, you're adding to it, while we look at the King rich background. While the core of game, taking a katamari and rolling stuff up in a certain amount of time and width, hasn't changed, but why should it. But in this game, you are given more collecting missions, like feeding a skinny sumo, collecting friends, and getting fireflies for light. For those who want the let a friend join the fun, there is a new co-op mode, but this requires tons of team work, even more when under width and time limits. But heck, fail and the king will greet you with a quick game of dodge the laser eye beams. While the graphics have been improved some, the music tops Katamari Damacy's. With diversity and catchy music that ranges from jazz, rock, swing, and dance, it's pretty hard to get bored with the background music, even after it repeats. But if you don't the like some the songs, you're given the option to change it before the start of almost every mission. We Love Katamari is longer Katamari Damacy with the many missions and other stuff to play with, but building the largest katamari really adds to the good old replay. If you have played the first one, you should have the second in your Playstation 2 right now, but if not, give this one a try because it'll grow you. Score 9.5 out 10.

Time to strap up and ready to beat back the Black Hole devils with Advance Wars: Dual Strike. If you have played Final Fantasy Tactics and Fire Emblem, you should feel some what at home with this game, if not, this is good old strategy game loving. Much like the last two for the GBA, you control a CO as your little troopers run, swim, and fly to stop the Black Hole army from taking over the world. While destroying and caputuring everything is the goal, defending cities and objects play are part in it, but some maps you'll face a time limit that will force you think fast and smartly. But there is a reason why this game is called Dual Strike. You can bring in another CO on your side and tag team battle you enemy, and you match up the right CO with the other, getting victory will be less of a problem, as well as create one. If you have ever played any strategy game, you know that brain has got to work. But sometimes, you got reset and try again. The high difficultly will ensure many arm chair generals hours of game play, while keeping the novice away from later battles. You can use the stylist to move troops around, but if you're like me, I would much rather use the D-Pad for better control because those troops are pretty small. The only thing I can say is bad is GBA graphics, but it's not a real low point since it works. There was some improvement from the crossover from the GBA to DS, but you'll be too busy to notice. If you're an old Advance War pro or just a fan of RTS games, you'll enjoy this game. Score 8 out of 10.

The X-"People" are back, and though brought the Brotherhood with them. X-Men Legends II: Rise of Apocalypse came out for the GameCube, Playstation 2, XBox, and oddly enough, PSP, well, this review is based on the Xbox. With 19 characters (3 unlockable) to pick from, both on the X-Men and Botherhood side, finding the team that works for you won't be too hard. However, later on, if you decide to switch a character, their levels will be far behind. Let's say Jean Grey is 40, Strom will be 25 if you don't use her often enough. But for those who have played the first Legends, the gameplay has gotten alittle more balanced. The basic leveling up had not changed, but powers and abilities had been adjusted, so characters like Nightcrawler is no longer a wimp. Legends 2 also have an auto-upgrade function that doesn't slow down the pace of the fighting, but it does take away from customization of characters. For those who are know, four character, that can be easily switched by using the D-Pad, run though five areas, with 70 missions that range from protecting a solider from dying to taking on a insect horde. You can be a button masher, or play it smart and hit your foes with button combinations. Four people can play which makes a great multiplayer, with online play has been added so you battle or with another person's team on the good old net. The game is pretty linear with tons of items like comic book covers and concept sketches, and their Deadpool, Professor X, and Iron Men that can be unlocked. The voice acting still sounds very cheesy and the music still is very rock based. Cell shading is still being used and looks great. Outside of some camera problems, very minor, nonpower related, slow down, and character building issues, this game follows in X-Men Legends footsteps. Rating 7.5 out of 10.

There you have it. I'll pull a review out once and awhile, mostly when I don't have anything new to talk about. However, some time this week, I'm hit the juicey, sticky topic game violance and other crazy bits with a corked bat. People have yet to learn, stuff like "Common Sense". L8R

CORRECTIONS/ADDITONS: Added to X-Men Legends 2 review "There is one probelm for those who use widescreen. The movies, loadings, and others are 4:3 and don't not adjust to 16:9 screen format. The gameplay does shift to "widescreen", but when it jumps to a movie or loading screen, 4:3 looks out of place when the game can play in "widescreen"." Added: Last remarkes. It will more realist graphic then Episode 2 and take place a year after the event of Episode 2. Some of the cast returns, like KOS-MOS, Jr., Ziggy, and Shion Uzuki, while they fight with while they fight Vector with an organization called Scientia. But wait, there’s more. Did get to play though the first two episodes? Got a DS? Love 2-D RPG? Then check out Xenosaga Episodes 1 + 2 that is coming to the DS. While the battles will be on a 2-D field, some of FMV will make their way over, thankfully, not the forever and a day length of them. And for the fans of the battle system that was used in the first episode, both the DS and Episode 3 will be using.

Specking of portable RPG fun for those who are too scared to leave their SNES for more then an hour, Final Fantasy 4, the greatest Final Fantasy, makes it jump to the SNES. But hold on, there is more. New areas to run around in, new characters to get some butt with, and the same great story, music, and battles that I love back in 1991. It is not known if it will have the US “Easy” or the Japanese “Normal”, but any which way, I sure at least 14 years younger.

And now the big news, Microsoft will be pulling a 360 on Tuesday, November 22, just two days before Thanksgiving. And another first, Japan will see this system last. December 2 will Europe’s releases, while December 11 will be Japan’s. To avoid some unneeded hate, Japan will just get the full package instead of with or without package that we will get here in the States.

The Prince will find himself running his Katamari on the go. Boku no Watashi no Katamari Damacy is coming the PSP. It looks like Paradise Island and it’s many animal population lost their island home and it’s up the Prince to make them a new one. To make this game different then it’s at home brothers; it’ll the time of day and year. So if you’re at a lake during the winter at night, it’ll be frozen and dark. While the nub is a piece of crap, I hope Namco works either with it or around it.

Looks like Solid Snake is getting a might old. Let’s face it, facing a new Metal Gear every 5 to 10 years and make you age pretty darn fast. With a grey moustache, wrinkles, and a whole new set of problems, he brings along the gruesome twosome. Otacon, fan favorite, Raiden, and Marly will lend this old man a hand in a battlefield that he can’t get away from. With mini-Metal Gear Rexes on everywhere, he’s going have a tough time getting from the doctor office and back home. Oh yeah, Ac!d 2 will still be a fucking card game. I don’t use a “Wake Up” card this morning. I don’t have a “Turn on TV” card to find out what’s going on in the outside world. So why do I need a card to pull a trigger of a gun.

With upcoming games will these and the doors haven’t even open up over there yet, this looks to be a great TGS. Besides, Nintendo decide to drop in this year.
Don't forget to leave a comment if you got something to say.

Rocking... kind of.

Naruto isn't going to be like that. The blood doesn't come out by the liters. The only nudity is Naruto Sexy no Jetsu, with had a ton of steam around him/her. And the killing, well, let be honest, there people that meet their maker, but atleast they are not cover in the red stuff called blood. Sure there the attack will be in English, but lets face facts, who cares. Sure, Mirror Eyes doesn't sound "cool", but who, and by who, I mean people that hasn't download the series before, or know Japanese, cares that the Japanese name of is Sharingan.

Wow, it feels like only a matter of weeks since I said that.

Anyway, "true" fans of the series will have the Tivo/VCR check and double check. The show will rewind and slowed some many times, the poor thing will recording Yi-Gi-Oh oddly for weeks. After all is said and done, we will know if it hit or something for people that don't have the cash for the DVDs to watch. But like I posted ages ago, the fans about as rabied as flys that found a day old roadkill. Heck, it's only a month away and rumors are already poping up cast changes and the ever dreadful editing. Some say flowing blood is gone or lessen, some say a dry blood (black marks on cuts), and some there be a clean fights. Some say Naruto transformation in to Sexy no jetsu will be cut, while others say bikies, and there the few say untouched.

Wow, that was only a matter of weeks and I stand corrected. Sexy Transformation, or Sexy no Jetsu, is still there, in all it's glory. Flowing blood, like nose bleeds, had to go to keep the show, which is a first for Toonami since it's Monday though Friday days, PG-V. One thing I will miss is the opening and ending themes, Rock and Wind, which was replaced for a 30 second clips of verious openings, much like the Dragonball Z openings. But, if it keeps the time edits down, people will have to deal with it, that or CN can trim the ads back to 1 instead of 3 or 4. And one thing I knew was going to happen, a decent to great dubbing. What more can you ask for. Don't say Japanese and uncut. From what I have seen, the fans are somewhat clam. Some are scream death, some enjoyed it. But for the people that can not get the DVDs or can't wait for them, this will have to make due.
Don't forget to leave a comment if you got something to say.

The final look at something that people can't stop talking about.

Greetings the lesser of two evils, here’s my Action 5, hurricane up date and corrections.

Just a few days ago, I backed Bush. Much like the start of the Iraq war, I made a mistake. 5 days after the face, FEMA still had there heads in the sand. The Federal Emergency Management Agency, is there, too little, too late. Need the less, here is a timeline of the crazy series of events.

Just a small warning before I get smashed with flames and hate e-mails, this is a slightly light hearted look at the subject at hand. If this upsets you in anyway, don’t read on and go back to watching Fox News.

Day 1 (August 28): Around 6:30 am, Katrina enters Category 5 (Ohz Noz Category) with 160 MPH winds and just 250 miles away from landfall. But around 9:30 AM, C. Ray estimates hundreds, maybe thousands, dead in his city. After that, he asked the police to stop chasing after looters and, do something about that moaning that heard all over the city. He also put out another evacuation notice, just in case anybody will still stupid enough to be in the city.

Day 5 (September 1): SOS was called by mayor, but when he found out he wasn’t on a ship, he called a SOC. Meanwhile, the city went a little crazy. Looting, shootings, carjacking and rapes, even reports of people shooting helicopters as they air lifted people out. People started to say, “What the fuck.”, and started wonder where FEMA, National Guard, and other government agencies with food, water, and other supplies. Well, it all a matter of getting ready, then there’s drive, 2 hours out of day for food/refuel, 8 hours for sleep. At that rate, it would take them 6 days to get there.

Day 6 (September 2): The Astro Dome put out it’s no vancey sign and so they started move people to a new stay, for the next couple of months. Bush dropped in, and guess who he bought at long last, that right, FEMA. Bush said that they (FEMA) was doing a good job and signed a House Bill of 10.5 billion to fix up the town. More Guardsmen showed up to help the police with the looters and pulling people off of roofs.

Day 7 (September 3): 7,000 troops, some of which just came back from the Middle East, are ordered to help out. A some what happy couple got married there. Oh and Kanye West said that poor black people were getting a raw deal. I won't worry, that’s the last we will hear of him.

Week 2 (September 4 to now.): Website Something Awful got owned by PayPal. But even after getting knocked off the internet for most of the Labor Day weekend, the gang “blogged” on while pulling in over $30,000 in seven hours until PayPal put a stop to that. After all the telethons, sing along, and Presidents of the past ask for our help, this is biggest open hand support since 9/11. Yesterday, water started to get pumped out and crititism about the feudal government lack of help, President Bush will start an investigation on what happened. Looks like he doesn’t have to go far.

And now, a special message. It appears, People are still there. So, here to the 10,000 (!) people that are still in there and feel as if they have no other place to go.

Don't forget to leave a comment if you got something to say.

Out of boredom and just wanted to this 'hello" program, here is my desktop as of right now. Jay-Z wants your money or he’ll bust a cap in your ass. Leonardo Dicaprio wants your money, or he’ll be sad. Jerry Lewis wants your money, but not just for the flood. Sure, giving money is the best thing anyone can do to help, just giving your time to make the trip down there to help set up showers, cook a hot meal, and setting up living areas until the water reseeds back to gulf. But keep in mind, people out there want your money, not to help, but to pocket. If someone calls you and ask to give for the relive efforts, DO NOT. If someone you don’t know e-mails you… you should already know this one, but DO NOT. The best thing you can do is make the call your self, visit the site like secondharvest.org or salvationarmyusa.org, or just drop by their office with an oversize check, they like oversize checks. Please give to these people, it’s only way stop telethons that cut in to my “All My Children.”

Oh media, do you care? Sure, I’m not down there, and let’s face it, what’s going on there is more cool then that whole Iraq thing, but there is a point where you stop, shut up, and give it a rest. It’s only been 3 days since landfall and your already playing the blame game. Can the crap! The government is not the all seeing, all knowing force that you make out to be. Did the government know it will take a left instead of a right? Did the government have time to move all those oil refineries and platforms? How about the National Guard, where were they and did they bring the dip? It all a issue of time. They can only do so much with the time that had, or did they. Need the less, let people heal and stop filming cry babies. That’s not going to get my wallet open any faster.

Oh, government, my other boss. Where were you? The President was dinner with World War 2 vets and everyone else, well; they took Labor Day off early, really fucking early. At the first sign of trouble, every person in the path should have known that the hurricane was coming and to get out of it’s way. And the New Orleans mayor, C. Ray Nagin, did just that, but people still didn’t listen. FEMA should have been more then ready to help people move out and get the people ready who can’t get out. The Super Dome can only hold so many people, and left face it, I sure not everyone knew about the coming storm. Last year should have been a gaint wake up call for all those who live by the coast. Be ready or be dead. A plan, by time table, should have been ready, but as most people can see, it work, as best as it could, but as most people know, you don’t aim that high for results.

And now the current burning issue, where was the National Guard. They were there. Some at the Super Dome, some on the street to help the police stop the looters, and others making sure people get out of the storms way. They can only do some much. Most of them in Iraq, but the few that remind did as much as they can do as humans. So don’t play the “Too late” card. Guardsmen from all over the country are heading over there, and people getting upset that they couldn’t be there sooner, do not help at all. After all, there was just 2 days between the shift to left to get ready and deploy. Missouri deployed around 1,500 Guardsmen to the effected areas Friday. Yeah, it’s too late and they missed the storm, but it’s not too late to help people to safety, to get them food and water, to get them a shower, and to clean up and put this whole nasty thing behind us.

Add on: Kanye West... shut the fuck up. You should know the color poor is more then black. Bush set up the plans and they didn't get follow though.
Don't forget to leave a comment if you got something to say.

The Lowest Point, Part 4, Video Games, Blood, Sex, and Grow ups.

Greetings. Sorry for the delay, but that is mostly due to revamping of Woot Radio.

Let's face facts. The more realist games are games, the more the more real they will become. You can't stop someone from using a bipedal tank capable of traversing any
solid terrain that can nukes with words or a slap fight. And what about that think call love. Vigran Mary wasn't that way for for ever. So, games, sooner or later, well have more sex, more blood, and more ratings.

People and parents need to wake the hell up. You can not blame an M rated game for the death of you a kid. Why? They shouldn't have played it in the first place. There are reasons why M rating on the box. Becasue it's not for friggn' kids. You won't let you kid go see Bloodsport, so why would you buy them Grand Theft Auto. You need to take the time and see what you kids are playing. Sure in this crazy, zanny world that we live in, you might find it hard, but it's not hard to take a second to check the cover on the lower left hand side and on back for the rating. They don't need flashing lights to point it out to you.

Now then, people that sell games, you know the law. You not going sell beer to a 12 year old, smokes to a 15 year old, porn to a 5 year old, or a gun to 17 year old with out wondering what's the harm selling "God of War" or "Killer 7" to some 16 year old. Even if there is no law in your state that says "No M rated games to any under 18.", you still got to do it. Hell, do the same for smokes and beer, if they look around early 20's, still card them. It's not like line is going to get any longer.

Lastly, game companies. If your going to try to remove a mini game of sex in game, remove it all the way.

Well, till the next time I find the time.
Don't forget to leave a comment if you got something to say.

DirecWay can stick it up their ...

Greetings people. Time for me to hit you with a hard right, jab with the left, and a swift kick to the knee, here the first new post here.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess will be MIA for alittle while longer. Make that seven months longer. What's the hold up? Perrin Kaplan, Nintendo of America's vice president of marketing and corporate affairs had this to say, "The Zelda development team has requested extra time to add new levels, more depth, and even higher quality to Zelda: Twilight Princess. Consequently, we're announcing a new global launch in 2006". While this might upset some, me, I'm more then happy. It's going to longer. And these days, that's what imporant. Now if Sqaure can give us a release date on Kingdom Hearts 2 and Final Fantasy 12, the world be a much better place.

For two years, I have been using satellites as a source, not just for TV, but for internet. Tech savey people know that satellite is not the best way to get online, but most tech savey people use Cable or atleast DSL. I am not so lucky. I live in the boons. Fiber opical telephones came just around just after touch tone. But finally, there might be a chance where I decent download and upload. BPL, or Broadband over Power Lines. Now people that can't get broadband in there area due to what ever reason, can now get it. Test has shown that it can go from 300 kps to 25 Mps, which is very nice. But it depends on the power company. Not only do they face technological hurdles and they have had to be persuaded that it's worth their while. But with investments from big-name companies including Google, IBM, and Earthlink, which looks to start BPL service by the end of next year, it looks like TV and phone companies will face more competition.

However, there are the down. By adding the signal to power lines interferes with amateur radio broadcasts nearby. That has got the American Radio Relay League and National Association for Amateur Radio upset. However, BPL companies offered to "notch out" that part of the BPL signal that conflicts with ham broadcasts, so the ham radio people can enjoy their hobby while I can enjoy mine. And the sources for this is Yahoo, Broadband Over Power Line (BPL) and Amateur Radio, and Broadband Power Line Tutorial.

Outside of one more post to moved over, please enjoy the rest of the day.
Don't forget to leave a comment if you got something to say.

E3 2005 Day -1 - 1

Ahh, E3, it was only 3 months ago. Game sites finally drop that they have E3 info and get back to life, as it is. But turn the clock back, to Pre-E3.

In just 15 hours from now, gamers drop what they are doing, fire up Foxfire, and start pounding the game sites like a square peg though a circle hole. But Friday at 8:25 CST, I had to dig for it. Outside of some VJ want-to-be and a pretty good band, they toke 12 minutes to do the core of the show, the XBox 360. The stats are out, and they look good. Outside of "it should be standard by now" high-definition, surround sound, and on-line ready, the wireless controllers, customizable face plates, removable HD are a very sweet touch. With Perfect Dark Zero for the Halo fans, Dead or Alive 4 for all the one that are kung fu fighting, and Ninja Gaiden Black (maybe, but good chance.) for the people that loves ninjas. But since Mircosoft drop the boom on us just before the show, or was it just a preview to a bigger list. Maybe this Halo 3 that Bill said would be ready for the Playstation 2. Who knows.

For the past 3 years, PS2 and XBox fan boys laughted anything with Nintendo on it. Yesterday, Nintendo started to let out a laugh. Out side of the wide fire that was started, it going to be small, really friggn' small, front loading, wireless controllers, DVD, online, can play your old Gamecube games, but little is still friggn' known about the guts. Oh yeah, Mario, Zelda, and Metroid all around. Then again, we might not until CES or TGS. Sure we might be able to play DS games on the it, but some of the rumors, holy shit. Don't forget, rumor are the for weak of will and of mind. By the way, It's Nintendo! I hate IGN more then Fileplanet and dear god, I hate Fileplanet.

Outside of the hint dropping like a group of birds did on my car yesterday afternoon, outside of Blu Ray, PowerPC-derived 'Cell' processor, Online, I'm sure it'll still play DVDs, HD, surround sound, and a big maybe on this years release, there is nothing. Most people know that Metal Gear Solid 4 will be on Playstation 3, but not much other then that. Will they pull the wireless bunny out of their hat? It was stated in the past that Sony will show off the upcoming system at E3 (some say before), so it's just a matter of hours till then.

Wow, the some poeple thought wrong about the PS 3 and Revelotion. But another day and there is Day 0, pre-E3 showings. Games and their systems.
Much like every other gaming geek out there, here's my veiw of games, systems, and other stuff I care about that going on during E3.

Sony finally head the call of the people everywhere when it ask that conspect artist must get a life. DON'T KILL ME, PLEASE! I WANT TO LIVE! Whew, sorry about that. This big shiny thing has finally got gamers to stop say sexy. Heck, look the controller. Did they steal the off some bike and painted sliver? I know they are going for slick and sytlist, but I want something to play games on. XBox fatty controller was not all that great, but yikes. Thank god the release date isn't till Spring of 2006. Atleast they have an okay line up for them. New Killzone, Devil May Cry 4, Metal Gear Solid 4 , Gran Turismo 5, and Tekken 6.

Anyhoot, HD (Let's face facts, everyone is doing it., 54 GB Blu Ray DVD (For the people that actually care, that like 2 to 3 Simpson DVDs or 5 to 6 of my City Hunter DVDs, which rocks.) that can play all of your PS 1 and 2 games, 1000 Based LAN, Wi-Fi that everyone else is doing, and Bluetooth... I guess for people with PDAs. Now for things to stick things in to: It will come with a Memory Stick Duo slot, an SD and compact flash memory slot (Cause anime fanboys can't stand watch fansubs on a computer like in the old days.), and detachable 2.5-inch HDD. Now, how much whould you pay for all of this. Well, alot more then a computer if you got all the stuff that Sony say it can do. Who here can say 3D0? I can see why they did the whole ad thing with 3s. Maybe they can do a remake of King's Feild for me.

Since Xbox 360 board is just a hour or two away, and I need my sleep (I got to pick my brother up from the airport.), I will go with the games. Final Fight has been, and always be the Street of Rage that wasn't made by Sega in my heart. I love that game. But since most 3D bash games have scared me, minus of Gods of War, I hope only the best for this game.

Now Squaresoft Enix. Just a couple of minutes ago, XBox 360 picked up Final Fantasy 11, which means, I can't say the PS 2 verison sucks. I'll get very little sleep after in winter well in to 2006. Kingdom Hearts II (Now with Johnny Depp.), Dragon Quest 8, Full Metal Alchemist 2 (July 12, 2005)(ADD ON: Don't buy, even if your a fan.), and Code Age Commanders. Too bad Final Fantasy 12 wasn't playable, for now.

Over at Nintendo, the new Zelda finally got a new name. Take a long breath. In and out. In and out. Okay. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and it will come out this year. Rock on, without the font size=10.

Capcom will once again, rehash. Street Fight Alpha 3 with Network Battle. Oh and they RE 4 on the PS2. Yippie skippie.

Day 1, will, my brother came in from California, so I was pretty tried and lazy. The rest of my E3 reports is coming tomorrow, but stay tuned for an all new post.
More card fighting for Snake, Pokemon turns to the darkside, and something about a dancing Mario.
Don't forget to leave a comment if you got something to say.

Laugh and Learn by Marks.

Once and awhile, I like to take time to eduate. How? With a base baseball bat. Case in point, May Day. But there was something I was hiding that May 1st. It was my 26th birthday.

Now something to work that brain thing, outside of puzzle games and anime made by some person that thinks way too much.

Back in the day, May Day is first day in May. May is a time to celebrate renewal of life, ah spring. May is named after Maia, grandmother of the Goddess of death and fertility (Saturn, watch more Sailor Moon.). Maia scorns marriage, so it is a good idea to put weddings off until June. So if you plan to get married around May, run, run all the way to Arizona, just don't get caught. Traditional May Day is a solar festival, celebrated on May 5th (But the 5th blows, ask my brother why.), halfway between spring equinox and summer solstice. In England, Queen of the May, Maid Marian, mounted on a white horse is the central figure in the May Day mumming (SLOW PEOPLE: to go about merrymaking in disguise during festivals). In ancient times, she would pair off with Merddin as her consort. Nowadays, Merddin is the bearded old wizard, Merlin, and Marian's consort is Robin Hood.

Maid Marian is surrounded with Merry men. Little John, Will Scarlet, Friar Tuck, Robin Hood, Easter Bunny, Santa, Tooth Fairy, and others form a band of thirteen you know, the boys. Morris Men, who perform a stylized folk dance are commonly believed to have been imported from the near east, Moors who danced a Moorish dance. However, a more ancient spelling indicates that these may have been Mari's men. Mari, the Mother Goddess, fruitful, and compassionate, is usually portrayed holding an apple from the Tree of Life, but to known as the May Pole.

Over in Japan, Iris, the mother of love and of rainbows, which is belivied to be a bridge to the gods. Becasue Iris is also May's month, it's one reason why May 5th is Boy's Day. Young men drink Iris's tea and bath in an Iris infusion to promote health and fertility. And of course, ritual human sacrifice to a death/fertility goddess was certainly practiced until the 1st Century BCE. As nature became less fearsome, and more cultivated, the nature goddess became less powerful and bloodthirsty. Today, we still celebrate the remnants of an ancient religion.

All that info came from Salmon River Gazette. Goddess found on Google search.

Space is pretty damn big, and crazy.

Now, something for the boy and girls that just got out of school. Science, hot and sassy. Yahoo/Space.com reported that two White Drawf stars are about to become one star. The double star called RX J0806 was discovered in 1994 in X-rays. With only 50,000 miles which is 1/5 of the distance between the Earth and the Moon, or the number of mile on my last car, between them, the two should be booming out gravity waves which might casue undulations in the fabric of space and time predicted by Einstein's theory of general relativity. What does this mean? If TV should be the wiseer, anything from evil twins to time travel.

These speedy devils is consistent with rotational energy being lost to gravity waves. The amount of energy radiated in gravity waves in all directions could be 100 times the energy our Sun puts out in light. Think about like this. Fill a cup full of coco with two mashmallows and stir it. Not being the first time this has happened , the radio pulses from the Hulse-Taylor pulsar were found to be getting closer together due to gravity wave emission between the pulsar and an orbiting neutron star companion. Although gravity waves have yet to be detected directly, future missions will be sure to look at this newly-identified white dwarf pair, which is 1,600 light years from Earth in the constellation Cancer.

When will stop this? Much like a teen movie, between 500,000 and one million years from now which will let out a big blast of gravitational waves. Since NASA is full of nerds, they made a movie on how this will all play out which can be found out here.

Ahhh, Germany. Europe's answer to Missouri, plus nudity and better beer. This post was about my trip to Kaiserslautern, Germany

As some of you lost souls know, I was in Germany a month ago. Wow, what a month. A month of very little drinking, drunk watching, and watch the old and young alike, enjoy a Germany finish brew. But enough about beer.

80 miles south west of Frankfurt and 295 from Paris for those that fear the French, there is a city of Kaiserslautern, Germany, or K-Town becasue the Army is lazy and Kaiserslautern is way too long to say when drunk. Kaiserslautern itself got it's name from the favorite hunting retreat of Emporer (Kaiser) Frederick Barbarossa, who ruled the diverse lands of the Holy Roman Empire from 1155 until 1190. But if you think that pretty far back, as early as 800 BC, a prehistoric settlement can be traced to this area and the Romans didn't drop by till the 250 BC.

Skipping ahead a few hundard years (Let's just say, that area changed a lot of hands.), 1930's was pretty darn tough, not just for the US, but for Germany also, where a loaf of bread several million Reichsmark, which was the currenty from 1925 to 1949. Most of the time, workers were paid twice a day so they can spend it before it lost value. But much like the US in the late 80's, then came the butthole. World War 2 hit this town hard, with more then 60% city bombed. But thanks to the people that blow up their town, they got on their feet after the war, to make it one of the largerst US military community outside of the US.

What did I do there, sort parts and staying dry, which was hard with all the humidity. But for more info, visit for Kaiserslautern and Kaiserslautern Military Community.
Don't forget to leave a comment if you got something to say.

The Lowest Point, Part 3, Naruto Fans

Naruto is a pretty good series. Don't kid me wrong or anything, but the fans scare the shit out of me sometimes. I can't tell if they are stupid or they have been living in their own world for the past 4 years. But the chance a sweet deal for those who haven't seen, heard, or can't download the fansubs come around, they have to go and take a leak in punch bowl.

Webster defines Narturds as someone that loves the anime series so much, that even the real world feels out of place. They see Mt. Rushmore as Hokagens of the past. School as a place to learn ninja skills. And work is where you ran off to make the world a better place with a bunch of flashy moves. WAKE THE HECK UP!

It has been two month since Viz, the company behind Ranma, Inu Yasha, and Flame of Recca (Another pretty good ninja series.) and Turnar Broadcasting, owner of Cartoon Network said they are bring us Naruto. But what is the probelm with that? There is none. Or I would like to believe there is none. Over the last two, long months, there has been a wailing and grinding of teeth. It's coming to Toonami. Once again, what is the probelm? There is none.

But, those crazy Naruto fans. They remember the days of Dragonball and Sabians verison of it. Sure, "I'll send you to another deminson." was funny way of saying, "Your going to die.", and the all so fun HFIL, Home For Infinte Losers, or Hell. But that was the early 90's. Why should we can about 12 years ago? Toonami's Dragonball GT might had a hand in that. Well, Toonami/CN has those rules about what can go on air before 11 and what can't. Hell fits in, so Fun had to, once again, bring back HFIL, then there was Bra's name change. Wait, I was talking Naruto right?

Naruto isn't going to be like that. The blood doesn't come out by the liters. The only nudity is Naruto Sexy no Jetsu, with had a ton of steam around him/her. And the killing, well, let be honest, there people that meet their maker, but atleast they are not cover in the red stuff called blood. Sure there the attack will be in English, but lets face facts, who cares. Sure, Mirror Eyes doesn't sound "cool", but who, and by who, I mean people that hasn't download the series before, or know Japanese, cares that the Japanese name of is Sharingan.

The months past, spring turned in to summer, but a month before Naruto hits TV across the US, the fans are just as stupid as ever.

Just one month from today, Naruto fans will do two of three things. Cry. Sigh. Rant on anime boards while drinking the three gallon of Mountain Dew. I am a fan of the series. It's rank up there with Fullmetal Alchemist and Super Gals. Yeah, Super Gals. So as you can tell, it's not that high, maybe the Top 25, but it doesn't cross the Top 10. But a fan need the less. Maybe 12.

Who cares.

Fans that still download the fansubs and rant each chance they can get on how bad the series will be edited, and it's will be a lot.

The series is good, and I enjoy it. Once more, who, outside some in a chatroom or board, cares. You'll find more people that care about what happend to that Russian sub that got entangled last week (OG post 8/9/05) then some show on Cartoon Network that is getting edited. There is more to life then 30 minutes out of week. You might love the show now, but soon ladies and/or guys will start to look much better Naruto.

And now, a moment of WTF. Sorry YTV for putting up with the fans. Post today over at some site where you can pay for downloading the series. Pretty friggn' sad. Nah, sad that people are actually paying.

Don't forget to leave a comment if you got something to say.

The Lowest Point, Part 2, 4Kids haters

2 for 2, here's another low point. The only real update is that FUNamation has stop putting out Shaman King and any plans for One Piece, but give it time. Just one small note, that 4Kids VG comic, it's really old. Enough said.

Since a small company puts it big hopes in a small, sugar crazied rodent, 4Kids has been bring shows over from Japan to TV sets across these United States. But with the coming of Naruto, which was covered last week, many fans have one question racing though their one track mind, will 4Kids Entertainment pick it up?

No they didn't.

Viz picked up the rights, so all is will. Much like a underline plot in a soap opera, it still came back. But in the form of Shaman King and One Piece. Sure most of you out there will to yourselfs, "This isn't new." But lately, it has been and without end. Kids, and I mean fans of these series, get over it. No one, outside of other people with little time on their hands, really gives a flying shit.

4Kids has in the past, let FUNimation, another computer that doesn't get enough credit, puts out uncut, with Japanese language tracks DVDs. So one question, why not stop crying like you the last ice cream got sold to some kid that already has a frige full of ice cream and buy the flippin' DVDs? Sure, people say that I don't have the money to. Why complain about something that you are getting for free or at small amount then? That where the change of subject comes in to play and once again, they belly ache, why is a company taking shows, editing them, and putting them on TV. Why indeed. If you don't have the money to buy the DVDs, then you have no right to get upset and spam boards and websites about how you hate it. Get a job, you bum.
Don't forget to leave a comment if you got something to say.

The Lowest Point. Part 1, G4's "Video Game Vixens of the Year"

Once and awhile, humans makes mistakes, heck, even made a few, but some take something alittle too far. "The Lowest Point" is just to point out the mistakes, and make it known, really known. This one is also from my 1UP blog back when G4 had the Video Game Vixens Awards. And that, ladies and gentalmen, was pretty darn low. Just as low as American Idol.

As you can tell by the title, each time I see something that is not just right, it's "Batman and Robin" wrong, it'll have the nice little heads up called "Lowest Point". Hopely the last, but given this crazy world, it might just be every friggn' week.

I remember back when I was in Junior High, I had a crush on Cammy (Street Fighter), Mai (Fatal Fury), and heck, even Zelda with the lights down low, but would I want to see a show, much like Miss Teen/America/Universe/Backyard on TV, but instead, just be full of women of the video game world. When I was 14. But now that I'm 26, I really question myself back then. I can understand why we have all the Miss Contest (in a small way), but a contest with categories like "Best Booty", "Best Bounce", "Sexiest Finish", and "Kinkest Accessory" are just sad. How about "Most Real", "Non PS2 or X-Box character", "Plain Jane Award", or my favorite, "Best Female That Doesn't Sound Like a Little Girl". Come on G4. Your just making it hard on yourselfs by putting out pure and unfilter dookie like this. How about something new on Anime Unleashed. Something deals with tech other then Attack of the Show. Atleast bring back Thunderbirds. The wooden puppets made me laugh and learn. Oh well. I hope someone wakes up over there and atleast put some Nintendo women on there. The last time I checked, Samus was the blond bomb shell (Note: Samus was in there, sadly, didn't win.) Any hoot, June 7 and every week after for a month and here is the link.
Don't forget to leave a comment if you got something to say.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://woodennut.blogspot.com/2005/08/lowest-point-part-1-g4s-video-game.html' title='The Lowest Point. For the next couple of days, I'm going to be moving all of my old and, if dare to say, best post over here. I'll side the new post in there once and awhile to keep things fresh. But for now, the here's my some what life story, that I'm too lazy to write it up again. Enjoy.

Today I got up, had some food, did something, played some Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath, went to bed. The end.

Okay, that what I was thinking about posting, but since I just started this 1Up do hickie, I'll give a spin. For you people that click on me by mistake, the back button is in the upper left, and for the people that is sticking around, welcome. I'll post once and a while what's going on in my life, what I'm watching, what I'm playing, and other boring stuff people post.

I just got back from Iraq and it was "fun". "Fun" being worried about the day to day stuff. "Am I going to motared?" "Am I going to be by the gate when some nut run an VBIED in it?" "I wonder if my stuff from Amazon will show up." You know, stuff people worry about in New York City everyday.

Besides the war, I also run a small internet radio station on Live 365 called ""Woot Anime Radio" which will hit it's 2 year mark May 31st. Drop by and give a listen.

As you can tell, I'm really big in the whole anime stuff. My favorite shows are listed in my favorites, but that not all them. Drop by Anime News Network and look for Ataru under "My Anime." It might be alittle out of date right now, but I'll update once I get some free time. Now just anime, but "My Manga", which is more out of date then the anime one.

If you have checked my video game list, yes, at one point, I owned those games. Some, like my Sega CD games, have gone a the way of a box of tissue in a bathtub. I pretty much got that up to date, minus the DS games, which is very odd that they list PSP and not the DS. Come on 1Up. What's the deal, huh?

And so, the following day, Part 2 of this my so called life, in bite size pieces.

As stated yesterday, I got me a DirecWay Internet. All that means is my interent is a bouncing ball when I play online games. Sometimes it works great, other times, I get killed and don't know about it until the monster is danceing over my bloodly body. Same with BitTorrent and other little internet goodies. As I live in the "boonies", I don't get the nice stuff like Cable internet or even DSL. But knowing Sprint/MCI/and thousand other "ma and pa" phone companies, they will install one in my area when I renew my thing with DirecWay.

But living in the back woods of my old Missouri home is not all bad. After all, I don't have to worry about kids playing in my yard. The state or some people from the church or school group pick up the trash every once and awhile. The only drive by shooting is that of hunter shotting a deer. And there is peace and quite thing. Now if they put a friggn' Sunscoast and/or Waldenbooks in the local mall, I will be at peace.

Well, time for me to play the rest of Halo. I've beaten Halo 2, just never got around to the first one, that and I'm not much of fan of the X-Box. Not because of Mircosoft, but because of the fact that there is only Halo, DoA, and Crimson Sky. Any hoot, till next time I post.
Don't forget to leave a comment if you got something to say.
